MotorVacature: Product Manager

In addition Moteo is expanding its footprint in distribution of non-genuine parts and accessories. Through our dedicated Reaction and Motana commercial entities in seven countries in Europe we are distributing several product lines for the Motorcycle, Scooter and ATV segments.
– Technical parts: engine parts (e.g. Athena), suspension, transmission chain (e.g. DID), exhausts (e.g. MIVV), rims, body parts, bearings, etc.
– Consumables : batteries (e.g. Yuasa), filters, spark plugs (e.g. NGK), braking (e.g. Nissin), lubricants (e.g. Motul, Ipone, Repsol), tires (e.g. Pirelli, Michelin, Kenda) etc.
– Accessories: helmets (e.g. Caberg), clothing (e.g. Spidi), luggage (e.g. Kolpin, Oxford), security locks (e.g. Vector), etc.

In order to sustain our growth in the Reaction/Motana platforms, we are on a continuous search for talented and motivated Product Managers. Moteo head offices are located in Kontich, near Antwerp (Belgium).

Role and responsibilities
As product manager you have a key role in our P&A organization.  Within a team of product managers, you will have the responsibility for one specific segment with several product lines.  You are held responsible for the following tasks:
– Continuous updating of application lists (link between a reference and a vehicle model) in the product database, and ensuring the vehicle-based search engine is updated at all times;
– Ensuring all product information is updated (pictures, descriptions, pricing, dimensions, etc) at all times in the product database;
– Developing new products or new applications together with our existing suppliers, find new suppliers to complement our product offer;
– Responsible for developing one or more own house brands;
–    Producing the international paper catalogue for a specific segment (frequency 1 per year) for your product range together with the graphics department;
– Conducting senior negotiations with key suppliers together with the purchase department;
– Supporting the commercial development of our B2B internet portal together with the IT team;
– Supporting the training for sales representatives on new products together with local sales management (if relevant) and set up all needed communication for internal and external use in order to boost the sales of your product lines;
– Supporting local market pricing and commercial promotions on specific product range together with local sales management (if relevant);
– Developing the overall European product strategy in a specific segment for the entire Moteo group together with Moteo management;

Profile
For this function we are looking for colleague who:
–    Has a dynamic personality, with a clear sense for action;
–    Can demonstrate a solid mechanical / technical background either from education or experience: the mechanics of a bike have no secret for you, you know every part of a bike by heart and how to (dis)mount it, you have very clear ideas on product quality, ...;
–    Has a sound passion for the two wheels sector: you read industry magazines every occasion you get, follow races in life or on TV, know every new model by heart even before it's introduced at the next trade fair, are familiar with all the famous parts & accessories brands ...;
–    Is proficient in English, any other language (French, Dutch, German) is a plus;
–    Is a master in handling Excel tables and performing medium complex tasks in Excel and at ease learning new software applications;
–    Is a multitasker by nature, with a natural feeling for priority setting and a very rigorous self organization;
–    Is a good communicator, during face-to-face meetings with suppliers as well as working with distant colleagues (e.g. over e-mail or phone);
–    Enjoy preparing and conducting negotiations, and reaching the set targets;
–    Is a hard worker for your passion – your job;
–    Is a team player before anything;
–    Is willing to spend 2-3 days a week at our head office in Belgium.
