MotorVacature: Senior Purchaser

In the next few years the group aims to consolidate its presence in the various countries, to seek out new territories, and to play a leading role in the adoption of cutting edge technologies and business models in mobility.

Our offices are located in Kontich, near Antwerp.

Reporting to the Purchase Manager of Moteo you will be responsible for the following:

Inventory Management & Purchase
o You have a strong drive to deliver the purchasing objectives:
o Ensure and develop a constructive and demanding win-win relation towards our suppliers.
o Negotiate the best buying conditions regarding price, quantities, quality, logistics conditions to enable sales and optimize the margin.
o Actively source within current/new suppliers to find the optimal price/quality balance to increase the product margin and/or sales volumes.
o Initiate and co-operate in close co-operation with product management and/or sales on commercial initiatives to push sales or to sell-out inventory.
o Strictly manage the inventory: ensure both timely product availability and inventory reduction. Identify issues and strictly follow-up corrective actions.
o Take initiatives to increase the service level to the market
o As responsible for the purchasing within a number of critical suppliers, you coach and co-ordinate the work of a Junior Buyer regarding: ordering, back-order follow-up, purchase cost calculation, product availability, complaints handling,
o You work closely together with product management functions in sales subsidiaries in various countries to identify the sourcing/buying needs:
o coordinate the sourcing efforts within the purchasing team related to the product development projects
o assist in supplier selection
o assist in price setting
o get forecasts and sales figures, assist to determine inventory level & rotation speed
o Your integrated process approach constantly drives initiatives to improve the purchase and supply chain processes towards efficiency, quality and risk control.
o You get acquainted with the products and the markets.

Controlling and negotiation of prices

o You prepare and convert the various price offers of the suppliers into
transparent price studies and analyses
o You negotiate with the various suppliers about standard prices and special price decreases
o You follow-up on the evolution of the market purchasing prices
o You monitor/check the cost price calculations of the Junior Buyer or administrative support.

Statistics/Reporting

o Evolution of the landed cost price per supplier
o Margin monitoring and pro-active actioning
o Supplier service rate and service rate towards the market
o Stock rotation & stock levels
o Delivery delays

Claims

o You will issue claims if necessary at the respective suppliers and/or insurance or transport companies.

PROFILE

o Bachelor degree
o Creative, rigorous, proactive and autonomous
o Negotiator, customer minded and result oriented
o Fluent in Dutch, English and French. German is an asset
o Good technical background with an explicit interest in motorbikes
o Computer skills (MS Office)
